SANCCOB ist somit die Auffangstation f\u00fcr in Not geratene Seev\u00f6gel oder K\u00fcstenv\u00f6geln. Zu den Seev\u00f6geln z\u00e4hlen zum Beispiel Kapscharben (<em>Phalacrocorax capensis<\/em>) aus der Familie der Kormorane, Dominikanerm\u00f6wen (<em>Larus dominicanus<\/em>) oder Rosapelikane (<em>Pelecanus onocrotalus<\/em>). Aber auch der Afrikanische Brillenpinguin (<em>Spheniscus demersus<\/em>). Obwohl sich SANCCOB um alle Seev\u00f6gel die Hilfe brauchen k\u00fcmmern, finden vor allem Brillenpinguine dort Schutz.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_85 counter-hierarchy ez-toc-counter ez-toc-custom ez-toc-container-direction\">\n<div class=\"ez-toc-title-container\"><p class=\"ez-toc-title\" style=\"cursor:inherit\"><\/p>\n<\/div><nav><ul class='ez-toc-list ez-toc-list-level-1 ' ><li class='ez-toc-page-1 ez-toc-heading-level-3'><a class=\"ez-toc-link ez-toc-heading-1\" href=\"https:\/\/wildlife-travel.com\/de\/sanccob-in-cape-st-francis-hilfe-fuer-wildtiere-in-suedafrika-5-5\/#SANCCOB_in_Cape_St_Francis_Suedafrika\" >SANCCOB in Cape St Francis, S\u00fcdafrika<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"SANCCOB_in_Cape_St_Francis_Suedafrika\"><\/span>SANCCOB in Cape St Francis, S\u00fcdafrika<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>SANCCOB ist eine NGO, die kranke, verletzte, verlassene oder ver\u00f6lte Seev\u00f6gel (1) retten, (2) rehabilitieren und (3) wieder in Freiheit lassen.<\/p>\n<p>Seit 1968 hat SANCCOB somit um die 95.000 Seev\u00f6gel gerettet (Stand Januar 2018). Darunter sind im Durchschnitt 24 verschieden Seev\u00f6gelarten pro Jahr. Bei den Pinguin-K\u00fcken habe sie mehr als 2400 aufgezogen.<\/p>\n<p>Mit ihrer Arbeit haben sie daher wesentlich dazu beigetragen, dass sich die Gesamtpopulation an Brillenpinguinen seit 1968 um 19% erh\u00f6ht hat.<\/p>\n<p>SANCCOB hat drei Rettungszentren. Da w\u00e4re ein Zentrum im Western Cape, d.h. in Kapstadt, und zwei im Eastern Cape und zwar in Cape St Francis und in Port Elizabeth. Ich habe das Rettungszentrum in Cape St Francis zusammen mit der <a href=\"https:\/\/wildlife-travel.com\/de\/3-monate-bei-der-orca-foundation-in-plettenberg-bay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ORCA Foundation<\/a> besucht.<\/p>\n<p>Bei einer &#8220;behind the scene&#8221; Tour ist es m\u00f6glich hinter die Kulissen von SANCCOB zu schauen. Momentan (Stand 2018) werden zwei halbst\u00fcndige Touren am Tag im Cape St Francis angeboten.<\/p>\n<p>Im Rettungszentrum in Cape St Francis habe ich sehr tierliebe, f\u00fcrsorgliche und engagierte Menschen, die sich um die kranken, verletzten und ver\u00f6lten V\u00f6gel k\u00fcmmern, angetroffen. Bei der Tour haben wir den Tierpflegern kurz \u00fcber die Schulter schauen k\u00f6nnen und sind dann aber gleich zu den Pinguinen, die nicht mehr ausgewildert werden k\u00f6nnen, gegangen. Dort haben uns die Tierpfleger mehr \u00fcber die einzelnen Lebensgeschichten und Einzelschicksale der Pinguine erz\u00e4hlt.<\/p>\n<p>Wir waren auch einige Zeit im Souvenir-Shop. Dort haben wir uns einen Informationsfilm angeschaut wo es um die verschiedenen Aktionen von SANCCOB ging und was man f\u00fcr Pinguine und Seev\u00f6gel im Allgemeinen tun kann. Besonders interessant f\u00fcr Anwohner ist es zum Beispiel bei den <a href=\"https:\/\/sanccob.co.za\/projects\/penguin-and-seabird-rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freilassungsaktionen<\/a> teilzunehmen, d.h., zuzuschauen.<\/p>\n<p>Wichtig zu erw\u00e4hnen ist hier auch noch, dass SANCCOB eine wichtige Anlaufstelle bei \u00d6lkatastrophen ist.<\/p>\n<p>Damit das Rehabilitationsprogramm erfolgreich ist, informiert SANCCOB die Anwohner und Besucher \u00fcber die zahlreichen Gefahren denen die V\u00f6gel ausgesetzt sind und was man tun kann wenn man zum Beispiel einen verletzten Pinguin findet.<\/p>\n<p>Mir hat der Besuch von SANCCOB sehr gut gefallen.
