Menschen mit ganz unterschiedlichen Hintergr\u00fcnden und einer gemeinsamen Begeisterung f\u00fcr die Natur kommen hier zusammen. Gemeinsam verfolgen sie das Ziel, die globale Artenvielfalt zu erforschen, besser zu verstehen und langfristig zu sch\u00fctzen. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Citizen-Science-Plattform, auf der Naturbegeisterte \u2013 oder B\u00fcrgerwissenschaftler:innen \u2013 ihre Beobachtungen von Pflanzen, Tieren und Pilzen teilen k\u00f6nnen. Diese gesammelten Daten sind wertvoll, um die Verbreitung von Arten besser zu verstehen und nachzuverfolgen.<\/p>\n<p>Ich selbst nutze iNaturalist sehr gerne, da es mir enorm dabei hilft, meine Beobachtungen zu bestimmen und mehr \u00fcber die Natur zu lernen. Weil ich von der Plattform so begeistert bin, habe ich mir vorgenommen, jedes Jahr mein pers\u00f6nliches iNaturalist-Jahr hier auf dem Blog zusammenzufassen.<\/p>\n<p>Wie viele Naturbeobachtungen habe ich gemacht? Wo war ich unterwegs? Etwa 90% davon konnten mithilfe anderer Nutzer:innen der Plattform bestimmt werden. S\u00e4ugetiere machten mit etwas mehr als 4% nur einen kleinen Anteil aus. Reptilien waren mit weniger als 1% vertreten, und Beobachtungen von Fischen bildeten eine noch geringere Zahl. Damit habe ich aus allen Wirbeltierklassen Beobachtungen gesammelt \u2013 mit Ausnahme der Amphibien.<\/p>\n<p>Insekten stellten weniger als 2% meiner gesamten Beobachtungen dar. Auff\u00e4llig ist bei mir vor allem der Monat Dezember. Dabei ist jedoch Vorsicht geboten: Die meisten Beobachtungen habe ich bereits im Oktober gemacht, sie jedoch erst im Dezember hochgeladen. Sicher ist jedoch, dass viele der Arten, die ich w\u00e4hrend meiner Reise durch Spanien und Portugal beobachtete, f\u00fcr mich echte Erstfunde waren. Dazu z\u00e4hlt zum Beispiel der Einfarbstar, von dem ich besonders viele Beobachtungen machen konnte. Ebenfalls sehr beeindruckend waren f\u00fcr mich der Schwarzstorch und der Wiedehopf. Auch wenn mir kein perfektes Foto gelang, konnte ich die Beobachtung dennoch auf iNaturalist teilen. Zu meinen Erstbeobachtungen z\u00e4hlte in dieser Zeit au\u00dferdem ein Trauermantel, den ich ebenfalls im Sommer entdecken konnte.<\/p>\n<p>Ein ganz besonderes Highlight war f\u00fcr mich in diesem Jahr die Reise zu den Uferschwalben. Es war das erste Mal, dass ich diese faszinierenden V\u00f6gel beobachten durfte \u2013 entsprechend durften sie in der Grafik der neu hinzugef\u00fcgten Arten nicht fehlen.<\/p>\n<p>Bereits im Fr\u00fchjahr war ich auf Sardinien unterwegs, wo ich ebenfalls einige Erstbeobachtungen machen konnte. Dennoch sind von den insgesamt \u00fcber 60 Millionen Beobachtungen etwa 43\u202f% noch unbestimmt.<\/p>\n<p>Interessant ist, dass unter den bestimmten Arten gut 40\u202f% Pflanzen sind. Eine zweite oder dritte Meinung kann hier oft entscheidend sein.<\/p>\n<p>Besonders interessant finde ich auch das letzte Kreisdiagramm: Die Mehrheit der Nutzer:innen \u2013 etwa 87\u202f% \u2013 teilt nur Beobachtungen. Rund 10\u202f% kombinieren das Teilen von Beobachtungen mit aktiver Unterst\u00fctzung bei der Bestimmung. Ich war flei\u00dfiger und konnte mehr Beobachtungen teilen. Bei der Bestimmung von Arten sollte ich noch etwas aktiver werden, wobei ich mich lieber auf die Arten konzentrieren m\u00f6chte und werde, die ich gut kenne \u2013 und am liebsten die Arten in meiner vertrauten Umgebung. So kann ich gleichzeitig meine eigenen Artenkenntnisse weiter verbessern. Das Tolle an iNaturalist ist ja, dass mehrere Nutzer:innen eine Bestimmung \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen k\u00f6nnen. Selbst wenn man einmal etwas falsch bestimmt, gibt es noch andere Augen, die dr\u00fcberschauen. Die wei\u00dfen Federn sind das Ergebnis von Leuzismus \u2013 einer genetischen Mutation, bei der die Farbstoffzellen in Haut und Gefieder fehlen. Diese besondere Amsel entdeckte ich im Berliner Tiergarten.<\/p>\n<p>Leuzismus scheint \u00fcbrigens nicht nur bei Amseln vorzukommen. Dar\u00fcber habe ich bereits geschrieben. Dort begegneten mir zahlreiche Mauereidechsen. F\u00fcr die Bestimmung der Art war ich auf die Unterst\u00fctzung von iNaturalist-Nutzer:innen angewiesen. Es war gar nicht so einfach, die V\u00f6gel zu finden, doch schlie\u00dflich entdeckte ich sie \u2013 und jede Minute ihrer Beobachtung war ein Genuss. Dennoch gab es im Juni eine besonders sch\u00f6ne Begegnung: ein Drosselrohrs\u00e4nger, den ich im Britzer Garten in Berlin beobachten konnte. Zwar war der Juni schon recht sp\u00e4t im Jahr, doch lie\u00dfen sich noch einige Drosselrohrs\u00e4nger und auch Teichrohrs\u00e4nger blicken. Dieser Ort ist einfach wunderbar f\u00fcr spannende Tierbeobachtungen \u2013 ich bin nur viel zu selten dort. An einem Tag tauchte pl\u00f6tzlich ein Feldhase auf. Dennoch konnte ich in dieser kurzen Zeit einiges erleben. Ein absolutes Highlight waren definitiv die Gew\u00f6hnlichen Grindwale. Jahre zuvor hatte ich bereits Grindwale vor Teneriffa beobachtet \u2013 damals waren es die ersten Delfine, die ich je gesehen hatte. Ich traf auf unz\u00e4hlige Schwarzkehlchen und viele Einfarbstare. Doch wenn ich mich unter den V\u00f6geln entscheiden muss, sind es die zahlreichen Rosaflamingos, die herausstechen. Das mag ein wenig ungerecht gegen\u00fcber den anderen besonderen Begegnungen sein, aber was die Rosaflamingos f\u00fcr mich so au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich machte, war ihre beeindruckende Anzahl.
